Yup, am 25. And no wonder this has been one of my best(est) birthday's ever! Well, by God's grace, the whole year has been wonderfully good, ManU winning the EPL, ManU winning the CL, and yeah, ok, I go through a pretty decent college for doing an MBA. And I was thinking, well, this Birthday can never be as exciting as the other things, and so I was waiting for the numerous calls that I was supposed to attend.
But then, a few of my friends conspired, and as the clock struck the change of day, well, I have a big bunch of roses (well they were 25 in number), a damn sexy cake, and few other treaties at the table.

However the problem here was that it was only upon counting the number of roses, that I did come to know that I was 25, all this while I was thinking I just turned 24. #@@#$

But whatever, this was a damn good Surprise! I wish I had more of those Lacrimal glands, for then I sure would have cried ;-)

Just back from Purple Haze. Went there with my roomies one of whom is the most handsome IT Engineer in India (Ashish) who blogs here and can be contacted here. Had an awesome time. The best was a song by Parikrama. Man, they just rock!
Ashish specially went there and convinced the DJ to play Stairway to Heaven by Led Zep, as a tribute to our friendship. Ashish, u just rock man. ;-)

Thank you guys.. It was the best ever Bday.. THE BEST!
Am feeling so sad of leaving Bangalore now, I swear I do!

Change of Name

I've changed the name of the Blog from "Rock On", to "Cartoon and other Indian Curries", simply because one morning I logged onto my blog, and found that it had a lot of Cartoons and none of them was rocking.

P.S. - I know this post, doesn't make any difference to your lives.

A ManU Fan's Guide to Victory

It's been a week, since the big day, May 21, and I have read a lot of news articles, blogs and people's comments at forums; the game, the Champions League Final between ManU and Chelsea at Moscow.
From "the gaffer's" (EPL talk) where he says that it was one of the most boring matches he has ever seen, to Arsene Wenger calling it a game decided by referee than the teams, to my dear Chelsea supporting friend Ashish who congratulated ManU for the win, not before glorifying the Blues.

But I think most of what's been spoken is not for what the match result was, but because of their "anti-ManU" attitude. Like one of my friend, who was never a Chelsea lover, infact is ManU hater, so even if Maccabi Haifa would have been fighting ManU in the Champions League Final, he would have been supporting the Israeli team ;-)

For the game, Chelsea was fully dominated for the full 45 minutes in the first half. They were not even dominant in the goal that they scored. We all know how the goal happened. Two deflection, landing the ball to one of the best finishers (Lampard), and with the keeper (VDS) slipping, who has the guts to say that it was a dominant goal by Chelsea?

On the other hand, ManU had 3 clear chances, 2 for Tevez and 1 for Carrick. Only bad finishing, and a lot of luck for Chelsea could have saved it for them, which it did.
Score 1-1

Come second half, and Chelsea were without doubt the dominant team, reaching the D and taking a lot of free kicks as well as corners. However, they did not score in the second half. There were two times when the Chelsea players hit the bar, but mind you, neither of them was good team play, it was just individual brilliance. Had Drogba scored that goal, it would have been one of the best goals this season, for sure. But then it didn't go in, just like Tevez' Giggs' and Carrick's shots which had either a Chelsea head, leg or shoulder deflecting it away (somehow).

Second Half was as much Chelsea's as first half was ManU's.

The same thing continued in the ET. There was no clear cut winner, the only person who came close to scoring was Ryan Gigg's whose shot was really well saved by John Terry.

Drogba's sending off was not at all controversial. We do expect a lot of swears running round the pitch, and not a big deal that a few of them will have a few players standing together and shouldering each other. Happens, for this is not a Wimbledon Final in white Jerseys and in front of the Queen, this is Champions League Final, and on a football pitch. However, even that doesn't give anyone the right to slap anyone, even if Drogba seemed like taking off Vidic's sweat. The biggest mistake that Drogba did was to do all this when the referee looking, and yes, all you Chelsea fans, that's the only UNLUCKY thing to have happened to you today.

Finally the Penalty Corners and the Sudden Death was just a way of telling the players, Ok Guys, Enough, we need to go home as well, our wives are waiting, in amazing Moscow hotels. And so someone had to win. Now even then, Chelsea weren't unlucky, they were indeed lucky that Ronaldo missed his Penalty.

ManU 6-5 Chelsea might not be the best score a team would like to lose, specially to ManU, cause rarely does a team come even close to their level of playing specially in Finals, but then, I think, the BEST team in Europe, the whole Season, deserved the trophy, more than the team, who fired their manager, because of the Champions League Final defeat, and that too after saying they were unlucky. Wow, so thats basically saying that Avram Grant was unlucky for them. Neat.

The Reds - Am sad

Liverpool's Lost it. And for some reason, am really sad about it. I am a Red Devils (ManU) supporter all the way, but if it's not them, am a Liverpool supporter, and with today when there was so little to choose between the two sides (I really feel Liverpool played better than Chelsea today), I have reasons to feel sad.
It's 2:40 am here, IIMB result is out, and by the time I wake up tomorrow morning, IIML result will be out as well. No words, just that am feeling anxious, not worried, not uneasy, just a feeling of what will happen types feeling.
As i write this, Liverpool, has scored one more goal (they are 2-3 now), not sure if they'll pull one more off in 5 minutes they have....
